Rem BDL 25-06 factory-takeoff barrel (?)

I&#39;ve acquired a Rem 700 BDL 25-06 factory take-off 24" sporter barrel that&#39;s in excellent condition <200 rounds down the tube...

I&#39;d like to put it on my [small-shank] Savage 111 action 30-06 hunting rifle ?????? ???

Can it be done and what would a &#39;smith need to do as I would like to see if its worth the cost ;D

...You&#39;ld have to cut the threads off..Stub it..Rethread it, & rechamber it...Now hope you have enough shank lenght before the taper to do it on a sporter...Best just to sell it or find a remmy action to put it on..
