The long action SF stock will work for the long action CF. It just takes a little work to get the magazine fixed into the stock.

got an idea, may sound stupid to some but i was thinking that the boyds stocks dont come with pillars correct? if the answer is yes then i should be able to make a oversized pillar to relocate the hole in the stock then do my bedding work and so on. northlander, sharpshooter, anyone else with boyds savage experience what do you think?

Getting the pillar in the right spot is easy. The biggest obstacle is locating the magazine properly. The inlet for a stagger feed mag is bigger than one for a center feed, so it needs to be built up or shimmed to get the mag the correct height.

sharp, i am planning on fabricating a hinged floorplate for this gun like on on a rem 700 or ruger 77 so i will have to do a little work in that area no matter what i do.

The oversized pillar is an interesting idea if you have the tools to make one. I wouldn't mind seeing a picture of this if it works out.
