Hey ya'll, long time - no see :D.

Got the 308 Savage out yesterday for first time since July:

Shot 3 loads without changing any scope settings or anything, 100 yds:

center aim point: 3 rounds of discontinued Black Hills red box 165gr soft point (it was dead center when it was last shot in July). I have about 350 rds of this stuff left.

top tangent of circle aim point: 3 rds pet reload of mine: Fed cases, WLR, Speer 150gr spbt, 43.5gr Varget

bottom tangent: 3 rds Wally World Fed 150gr Power Shok

What can we take from this?

1. If you look at the pic, there was no change in windage between the 3 vastly different loads. i did not expect that, but I like it! ;D

2. The BH load in the center moved up 1/4" since last july when it was dead on - i would have thought cool weather would make it drop. Think the cool weather is affecting the scope, mount, barrel, stock, etc - offsetting the affect on the powder?

3. The reload shoots about 2 scope clicks, or 1/2", lower than the BH load that the gun is sighted in for. Notice the Federal load is about right on.

4. Notice the diff between the Federal Power Shok and the much more expensive BH load - not gaining much for the $$, eh? Except exchanging vertical stringing for horizontal stringing. Odd, huh?

Thought ya'll might enjoy this. Any inputs greatly appreciated. YH

Probably the temperature and humidity is the difference on the center group.

Believe your rifle will shoot all three loads/bullets rather well.

it was high-90's in July compared to high 40's now
