new to savage just bought a tiger shark 22-250

hey guys/gals just wondering what the twist is on these guns i do plan on reloading in the future but really would like to find the twist out the guy at the store told me 1-12 but i am not sure

o and what factory ammo is decent that you guys have found to work great

so far out of the box and sighted in at 25 yards i am grouping the size of quarter

so far i am loving the gun nice trigger pull and i cant wait to take my yotes and ground hogs in pa

Hornady Custom or Winchester Supreme. It should do at least quarter size groups at 100yds. All 22-250s do.

The 40gr Winchester White Box and 55gr Winchester Ballistic Silvertips shoot very well in factory tubes.

It would be a 1-12" if it were anything else it would be a 1-9" but it would be marked on the barrel "22-250 1-9" Twist"
To my knowledge they never made a 1-9" in a blued barrel.

Anyway I'd say it's a 1-12"

1 and 12 twist i wonder if my gun can handle my buddies load that he shoots out of his 1and14 guess i will have 2 see

It should shoot anything his 1 in 14" shoots, maybe even better. Hornady 50gr. Vmax are awesome accurate and brutal on groundhogs.
