Just wondering what yalls forend is assembled... i think i may be missing a washer or something, because with the way it assembles, it is kinda free-floating, but it isn't... and i think might have a washer or spacer missing. Can anyone help me shine some light to his problem, thanks in advance.

If more/certain pics are needed, just say the word. Thanks again. BTW, this model 99 is dated to 1950, and is serial #6xx-xxx if that matters at all. I have had this for many years and just figured this out... the bbl doesnt really free-float, but seems as if it was intended to. Anyway, any help would be appreciated.

Sometimes the forend screw is overtightened, pushing the steel ferule (in the forearm) too deep, causing some sloppiness, you are not missing any parts. The barrel usually touches the barrel channel, and the forearm screw is just "snugged" up. I've epoxied the ferule back in place on some, but putting a rubber o-ring between the barrel and forearm works too. There's no real free-floating option with the 99's beyond the o-ring. I've considered retrofitting a strong-arm bracket like the Browning BLR has, but that's a radical (unlikely) change for any 99 with the rotary magazine.

Every thing looks proper to me.

Thanks, I think it has just been over tightened over the years.
