Hi does anyone know of any vendors that have 6MM-06AI dies in stock, I can't seem to find any.

If Midway shows them as "special order" you'll be lucky to get them any other way. I was going to say get a set of 30-06 Type S bushing dies and replace the bushing with the correct one for the 6mm, but they don't make the Type S bushing dies in -06 AI.

I saw that on Midways site, talk about blind faith.

From what I've seen, they, by far, stock the widest variety of reloading dies. If they list something like that as "special order" I usually can't even find it listed on anyone else's site. You could try calling RCBS directly.

I was and am going to call RCBS, but I thought I would give the forum a couple of days.

Give Dave a call at CH4D to see if he has them or what the lead time is.

Ive been using std lee 243 theneck diam is .277 for both ,6-06ai neck length is .296,243is.276 so its .020 shorter than 6-06ai .shoulder diam is same for both at .4550, and .4551 resise neck of 6-06ai until you feel the shoulder .this should leave about .020 of the ackley neck unsized. Which has not caused me any problems. If you need to resize the base ,use a 45acp carbide sizer die to get out the bulge at base , if you need to . Use 243w seater as normal.
No brag ,just fact

I thrive on stuff like that, and also happen to have those dies already, so worst case it will cost me a couple of pieces of brass till I get it right, maybe I will get luckey and get it right of the bat, either way thanks for the tip, I will post my works of art as soon as I have something to show.

Thanks Andy I do want to get them eventually, but if I can hold off on the $150.00 for now, especially when tooling up for a new caliber that would be a relief on the gun fund so I am going to give Gary's way a try first.

I have a die set but would have to sell my barrel in the deal. P.M. me if interested in a package deal of barrel, die set, and some brass.
