I am interested in learning about the eariest .22 RF Autoloaders that SAVAGE made.

Anyone have any info on Models and when?

Most of Savage's early rimfires were pump action or bolt action. Below is a list of the earlier Savage's offered in 22 rimfire up through 1938. Detailed descriptions of each can be found in Philip B. Sharpe's book "The Rifle In America"

Model 1903 Hammerless Repeater = pump-action
Model 1904 Junior = bolt-action
Model 1905 Target = bolt-action
Model 1909 Hammerless Repeater = pump-action
Model 1911 Repeater = bolt-action
Model 1912 Automatic = semi-automatic
Model 1914 Hammerless Repeater = pump-action
Model 1919 NRA Match = bolt-action
Model 19-33 NRA Target = bolt-action
Model 1922 Sporter = bolt-action
Model 1923 Sporter = bolt-action
Model 25 Repeating = pump-action
Model 29 Repeater = pump-action
Model 4 and 4S Repeater = bolt-action
Model 3, 3S and 3T Single-Shot = bolt-action
Model 5 and 5S Repeater = bolt-action
Model 6 and 6S Automatic = semi-automatic

Quite a 'step' there between the m1912 and the Model 6!


I was not sure if there had been any other Autoloaders in their pre-War Line-Up.
