It does :)

I don't see it listed as an option on their web site? Is it a discontinued? Or new model?

If it is not on their website, it is likely Savage is not currently manufacturing them in that chambering.

However, that does not mean that it is not available somewhere. The Gander link says "Availability: Low Stock" so there aren't too many left there.

Savage routinely changes which chamberings they have for their various rifles from year to year. Perhaps next year, they'll put the 25-06 back on the Axis list.

Just a couple of years ago I purchased a Stevens 200 in 25-06 and another in 7mm-08. Those chamberings no longer show up on the Savagearms web site for that rifle.

Link shows an Axis not a Stevens... I know the Axis is chambered for 25-06, somebody stated the Stevens 200 also came in 25-06

Buds and it is the XP.

That is one heck of a price - MSRP for the Trophy Hunter XP is $675!

Savage Arms does NOT show a 25-06 for the Stevens 200. Maybe they used to but it doesn't look like it now.

BTW, the Winchester Ballistics calculator shows the 95gr 243 and 115gr 25-06 as having nearly identical ballistics. Why not stay with the much more readily available 243?

They may not be cataloging them now, but they did produce them (stevens 25-06). There are several listed on gunbroker. Some of the slower moving shops may still have one around new, but then it will probably be overpriced or it would already be gone.

Because I prefer the 25-06.

I am a lefty but despise left handed guns lol, grew up in rural Southeastern Kentucky where you simply did not see left handed guns in the 80s and 90s so I learned to shoot left handed with a right handed bolt. Putting the bolt on the other side confuses me lol

Well, considering I just received my left-hand Axis review rifle and it's in .25-06, I think it's safe to say they're still making them. I've mentioned it a few times before, but you really can't rely on Savage's website to be accurate when it comes to specifications and/or what chamberings are being offered in what models. Even their printed catalogs aren't always right either as there's usually some minute detail/specification someone overlooked that isn't correct.

Left handed Axis, Jim?....

Is that going to be production or is it just a tester?

Well if you shoot lefty and start shooting a left handed riifle I promise it will grow on you until you won't want a righty anymore. The mid to late 90s were the heyday of savage rifles for me because all versions of the 10/110 series were offered in lefty. I'm glad I bought my dream rifle before they discontinued it, a 116 FLCSAK in 30-06

I doubt it, tried a couple, been shooting the way I shoot for almost 30 years now, pretty set in my shooting habits. Most rh bolt guns I shoot I can work the bolt without losing checkweld.

I can shoot a righty from the bench well, but it is awkward as all get out in the field. I know many lefties like you, but I made the switch in the early 1980s and will never own a right hand bolt gun. Sort of a shame since there are no other lefties in the family to pass them on to. At least with the internet my family can sell them easily enough when I am gone- if a left handed grandchild doesn't come along by then.
