Hi, just joined forum and just purchased 220 slug gun. I purchased a egw base and went to install it and it takes a lot of force to turn the screws. Almost like they are the wrong threds. Is this normal?

Hi and welcome.
I too just bought one of these and had the same issue with Leupold bases, it seems as if the holes have not been chased after tapping.
What I did was put a drop of oil on one screw and turn it all the way in and out on each hole, after that it was fine.

I got the blued bbl black stock. Hope to shoot it tomorrow. Can't believe how nice the trigger feels, nothing like my other shotguns.

try different types of ammo in it as well. Each one will like something different.

Mine likes the federals w/the barnes expander bullets, and can shoot them 1.25" 100yd 5shot groups. They are also awesome on deer. I have yet to have a deer run after its been shot.
