Model 10 predator barrel

Hi, Has anyone here removed the camo dip from a model 10 predator barrel? What`s the barrel like under the camo? can it be blued or painted? Any one have a picture? I have the model 10 predator hunter brush, Love the rifle,, Love the accuracy but hate the camo, what can I do?

Bead blast it and Ceracote the color of your choice.

I wouldn't remove it...I'd paint over it.

I painted directly over mine with Ultra Flat Black. It looks great!!

Thanks,, Painting would be my second choice,, Hoping to blue it but need to find out if the metal is smooth enough.

The metal itself has the same basic light texture to it as most of the Savage barrels do. The blued versions from Savage are definitely smoother, but you can still blue the metal if you wish. It shouldn't pose a problem at all, just whether or not it would be to your full liking.
