model 11 243 ?

I bought a model 11 243 win takeoff barrel. Then hand loaded some 85 grain sierra hpbt just like i shoot in my old model 110e and my little girls marlin x7. Well I have to set the bullet for the model 11 way deeper in the case just to stay off the lands than the outher two. Has anyone else had a problem like this?

Are you sure it's hitting the lands? That is not a particularly long bullet for a 243. What is the COAL when loaded that way? I remember using it in my "J" series, and it was easy to get it to the lands. It was also an incredibly accurate bullet in that rifle.
