Ive got a savage long action that is different.....
the scope rail is integral with the action and so is the recoil lug.... the action looks like it was done with a file... rough. Actually I could do a lot better with a file.
can anyone tell me when they stopped building the actions this way.
Thanks
Larry

I think they were mid 90's just before they went bankrupt and were bought out and turned into what they are today.I would use it for a truck gun or sell it and get a more modern one with the roundback reciever with the accutrigger.Your rifle was probably a package rifle as a place called dicks sporting goods sold alot like you describe.

Thanks Jonbearman,
No wonder they went Bankrupt. they cut costs by using the barrel nut gorilla with an angle grinder for final shaping.
Stumpjumper,
Ill try and get a picture up today just for show and tell.

It was there attempt at casting. Only one year. To much warpage when heat treated.
There are also some older receivers with bases soldered on also.

Any Idea on the year?
well I tried to post an image but apparently I have to have a upload the image as a file and it wont let me do that because apparently my paid member account has expired and I just now realized it.......
Just a note to the mods on that one....... How about a Private message that your dues are due before they expire....surely that can be done automaticly

Those 2 styles were only made for 18 months, between 1988-89.
