Hornady Superformance

Hello everyone. I am wondering if anyone has chronographed the 22-250 Superformance Varmint 50 grain from Hornady. I have the 22" sporter barrel 1-12 twist. Just looking for a velocity so I can figure out a drop chart, and proceed to test it. Thanks,

I have not tested the 22-250 but I did chrono the 223 55gr and it claims 3275 and from my 24" tube I got every bit of the factory data. So perhaps in your 22 it may be slightly less than the box says

You will lose a little velocity because your 22" barrel is a tad shorter than the lab 24" barrel used by Hornady in their tests.

I estimated the 22" barrel velocity based on 38 grains of powder and Hornady's published 4000 ft/sec using the Velocity Estimator at http://shootersnotes.com/calculator/velocity-estimator/.

Your velocity should be within about 50 ft/sec of 3930 ft/sec.

Curious to see what the chronograph says.
