So i just took my older savage 22-250 model 11 and changed the barrel to a 308, i have a leupold vx2 3x9 scope on it . The build went great, the problem is i took it to the range today to sight it in and The first few shots at 100 yards were high and to the left about 6 inches. i adjusted and the height is good but i dont have enough windage left , I was told to buy some leupold windage bases and rings. what do you guys think. thanks

That sounds like a reasonable plan.
Before you spend any money, go through and check all the usual suspects (mounts on backwards, screws tightened and not too long, etc...).
Personally, I would go with Burris Signature Zee rings with the inserts to start off boresighted with my scope adjustments approximately centered, but if you prefer windage bases and rings, go for it.

Weaver & Millett have adjustable ( windage ) rings also , it helps if you already have weaver style bases.

If you bought cheep rings that is your culprit. When buying scopes rings and bases the rule of "buy cheap Pay twice" applies.

I always buy the dnz one piece base and rings anymore! They are absolutely amazing! A little pricey but definitely worth it!

I second the DNZ one piece if you arent going to be moving the scope around. Those things are solid! Just for giggles turn your rings around and see if the problem goes the other direction, then at least you will know if its the rings or not.
