What's everyone's thoughts on going to a 20 MOA rail on this caliber? Is it a good idea or not. I may switch scopes with another gun from time to time but not sure yet.

What has been everyones results with this gun? Group sizes and loads? I'm hoping I can find a load that shoots in the 2's if that's not possible, I'll be very disappointed.

My Tikka varmint T3 shoots in the 2's with 75 Amax and I'm hoping this will also but with the ability to shoot longer ranges.

if you have the adj. on your scope go for it
its always better to have more up than down

I assume you are going with the 9 twist ? I don't believe the 12 twist will support 75gr bullets, particularly long ones like the A Max. I don't know if Savage uses a different throat length in the 9 vs the 12 to take into account the longer bullets. These are all details that are taken care of on a "true" custom rifle, which you may need to work through. This gun is up there at the top end of the price scale for Savage, so one would assume that they pay a little more attention to detail.

For some reason, my model 12 does not yet shoot as good as my model 10. I think that I may need to bed the action in the stock, since my 12 is not an accustock. Maybe that outcome is just because I haven't shot it enough due to the price of commercial 243 ammo.. I need to get some dies and components and shoot it a little more and perhaps it will settle down..
