Maybe a stupid question ? But does anyone know if it is possible to use
one or the other of these powders? Maybe I will have to call the manufactor.

I have 5 lbs of IMR 4350 and most of the loading call for HODGON-4350

Seems to me that there has got to be a way of using it...Either by increasing
or decreasing one or the other...

http://data.hodgdon.com/cartridge_load.asp

Gives data for both, in whatever caliber you want to use. Kind of a everyday link.

I'm trying to find a slow powder for a 55 grain bullet in the 22-250..I see H 4350 used a lot..
I guess I will call them and see what they tellme...If I can use the IMR in place it would be great.

I hate to keep buying powder if I don't have to...I know I have converted some loads to use
in place of others with no effects of any...

I checked some manuals I have; Hornady Vol 11 Start 34.4 stop 39.9 =3700
Nosler #3, start 35 stop 39= 3610
Sierra start 37.2 stop 39.4=3500
This data for IMR4350. As always start low and work up. Luckus

They have very similar burn rates. As long as you start a couple grains from Max and work up you should be fine.

I think your right..I tried a few loads and I seen no problems at all....This stuff has been preached
into people forever..I can take my 22-250 and fill a case with h4831 and it shoots great..No weighing
of any..But I am NOT saying for you to try it..SO DON'T..

According to Bruce Hodgdon, 38.0 grains of H380 behind a 55gn bullet in the .22-250 is the only load that you'd ever need ;)
