I have an opportunity to buy a model 112 in .300 Remington Ultra Mag. The barrel is stainless steel and it has a muzzle brake. It has a synthetic stock and 3 round capacity and is top loading. It's in excellent condition. I don't really need the rifle for hunting, but it could be fun for the range. Is this rifle considered desirable by knowledgeable Savage owners? What would be considered a good price for this gun? Any comments would be appreciated.

Yes it is pretty desirable for it's longer magazine length to make repeaters from for the RUM's and other full length rounds. What's the asking price for it? Is the receiver stainless too or is it blued? I've seen them both ways. Also what barrel shank size is it?

The receiver is blued. The asking price is $550.00. I'm not sure about the barrel shank size.

That's not a bad price. You might even be able to talk him down a little on the price but since it's a RUM action people would be willing to pay a higher price for it. Good luck with it.
