Still searching for an accurate load for my 22-250..
This rifle has a 26 inch-9 twist....Has anyone here
tried the varget with any ammount of sucess..
This is a 9 twist barrel and I am wanting to shoot
69 grain sierra MK's for F class..If any one has used it
with success,I would appreciate hearing about...Rem-
ember the 9 twist..I could care less if it was 10-12
whatever...Thanks John

I've found H4350 tends to be my preferred powder in the 22-250. Had real good luck with both 38.0 and 38.5gr of H4350 and the 65gr SGK's with my 1-9 twist LRPV. It also liked 53gr SMK's over 37.5gr Varget.

thanks for the reply..Something to consider anyway..I did try IMR 4350 with the 69 SMK but
it was not as good as I would have liked it to be..Gonna try the Varget today if the rains
hold off for a while...

Try something slower than varget. I shoot 75gr a-max in my 8 twist and RL22 is way better than varget or 4064. RL22 and IMR 4350 are both much better for that barrel length and bullet weight in my opinion.

Funny you mentioned the 4831...That was the powder I tried this afternoon..Man was I impressed..I was shooting at 125 yards and figured this is half way to 250 so why not see what it does here.....I only load 4 rounds per group....
I had 4 in less than 1/2 inch at this distance...So if it is true what they say at 250 under good conditions the group should still be less than 1 1/2 inchs which willmake be very happy..I also use the 69 gr SMK.....If it works again I will be all set for the f class shoot a week from now....John
