I know I can get it from gunsprings.com (wolff gun spring company), but they sell em in 10 packs. Its not the expense.. its the having way too much for my trigger job laying around after I'm done that I want to avoid. I want like a 5" piece, not 10x 8" pieces.

Anyone know where I can get a single piece? I'll gladly pay the shipping plus a buck for one piece (they're 2.99 for 10 at wolff) if anyone has a spare.. but I'm more looking for a source. I've already sent emails to the smiths (non part swappers, actual smiths) that I know about.

Thanks for any links you guys can post..

If you decide to co the other way and buy a pack, I'll take one of your spares.

LOL.. kinda hoping to get in on that type action myself. I've got it ok right now.. passes drop test, no pre travel, no over travel, crisp, but heavier than I'd like. The trigger only moves like 1/8th to 1/4 of an inch from start to stop..

Instead of buying 10 from Wolff, for the a penny less, you can buy 1/4 pound from Fastenal (that's 55.75 feet according to their copy). If you have a local Fastenal store in your area, they can deliver it to the store, or you can order it from the store, and not pay shipping. Then, after you use your two inches, you can be a nice guy and give away the rest to people who send you a SASE. You can garner a lot of goodwill that way and help others out at the same time.

If you wish, Fastenal has it is stainless as well.

So I've heard.. but I dont have a tackle box, or even a fishing pole...lol

I have a fastenal store right around the corner.. I think I'll be buying that 55 ft reel. Will probably make abunch of the springs, pass out 20-30 or so PIF, then sell the rest for a $1.47 shipped (never underestimate how much a lazy person will spend to not do it themselves). I'm not a paid member here.. but I'll be selling them off on other sites that I do have permissions to sell on.

Man, just went to the Fastenal store to pick up.. 5 dollars in freight charges cause it was "special order". WTH? The part weighs .25 lbs, and only cost 3 dollars.. how is freight gonna run more than the part? It would have been cheaper to order from the website!

Anyways.. I raise a little stink, they dropped the total charge down to like 470 after taxes and freight.. I just tossed a 5 on the counter and walked out with my spring.

That said.. spring is in, time to test out in the rifle.

EDIT.

Its nice and light for the trigger pull now. appears to be drop safe.. got the saftey adjusted so that if it drops on the but (the direction most likely to actually fake a trigger pull...), the safety activates once it hits...

After futzing with it a bit more.. I've found that no matter how much sear engagement I set.. If I push the bolt forward and down fast enough.. like I'm cycling it.. FP lets loose. Doesnt do it except at fast speed.. and it does it no matter how much pressure I've got my trigger spring set at. I am running a lightened spring (.041 diameter, down from stock).. so I may be switching back to stock and seeing if I can replicate. If I can.. trigger mech goes back to savage.
