::) Ok, here's the deal.....this past summer I had Sin-Arms chamber me a 17 caliber Shilen barrel in 17 Fireball and I wrenched it onto a Stevens 200 action. The Stevens I used still has the factory tupperware stock....which is fine since I use this rifle for night hunting fox.

I think (yeah....right now I'm too lazy to go to my safe....pull the gun out and measure it) Sinman cut the barrel to 24".

I have a Bushnell lighted reticle 3-9 scope on it.

Now....I haven't weighed this "package" but I guess I'm use to haulin around my 22mag Handi. But I dunno if there is an aftermarket stock that would be lighter than the factory tupperware Stevens.

Maybe if I cut a few inches off the barrel.....but that would be a last resort....and I dunno if that would be worthwhile anyway.

So....any suggestions on a lighter stock than the factory Stevens?

Thanks.

Dave

Pahog said the Manners stocks were VERY light. Bad thing is they are very damaging to the wallet ::).

Manner stocks and customer service is second to none, they are indeed very light, but I think your tupperware is about as light as you'll find. Your weight is probably coming from either the barrel contour or length, or both. The Manners stock I have here is 27 onces with a Pachmyer Decelerator on it, they range from 24-27 depending on model and recoil pad, they run around 500.00 this one was 542.00 skim bedded and shipped.

Thanks......I think that's a bit more than I wanted to spend for a few lbs. of weight. I'll weigh the Stevens tupperware too see what it does come in at.

Thanks.
