is there no way to put the ultra mag magazine on there even with modification?

are there any other ways to add room for my 300winmag?

Which of these would the .375 H&H use? The .458 or the Ultra Mag?

So, is it safe to assume the difference between a 223 stagger feed and a 308 stagger feed is the spacer in the blind Mag.?
I am in the process of re-barreling a Stevens model 200 from 223 to 308. The 223 stagger feed magazine has spacer about ¾” of an inch from the end, of the rear. If I remove this spacer, will this be all that I need to do, to feed 308 rounds?

Thanks
Don

You will also need a different sized bolt face to fit the .308 cartridge.
Cartridge diameter (Case Head diameter)of the .308 Winchester at the bolt face is .473" instead of .378" for the .223 Remington.

Does anyone know where I can find a 223 magazine box, spring, and follower for sale?

I have a M-112 factory chambered for 7MM STW that has a magazine that was made by cutting and welding two magazines to achieve the extra length. It is a stagger feed but doesn't reliably bring up the 2nd round of three.
The magazine is a little too long and has a slight distortion at the top rear where the tab engages the receiver.
Anyone with similar experience or ideas?

Could you wrap a piece of thin metal from the top front through the mag and hook it around the bottom front of the mag ? -- OR--Could you coat the front of the mag w/JB Weld and sand it down and polish it until smooth. If it works or comes loose could you drill small holes in non-critical spots out of bullet tip track and mash the JB Weld through and flatten it down like a washer? I'm having mag problems too thats how I saw this thread. Hope something works, Paul

This has been a great help. I too will be converting a Stevens 200 in 223 to 308 caliber. Nice to know I can just remove the spacer in the magazine box. I already haved a 308 bolt head.

You will also need a 308 bolt shroud (behind the bolt head), you could cut the extended stop off the 223 shroud but I just ordered a new one when I converted 223 to 308.

Looking at the different magazines above got me to wondering about my project. I’ve got a 1993 vintage 110 in 270 Win that I want to rebarrel to a 6mm Remington. As you know the 6mm Rem is shorter than the 270 Win , but longer than the 308 family. I’m thinking my magazine will be ok in feeding my 6mm Rem.

It should work. I converted a 25-06 to 6.5 Creedmoor and the shorter rounds feed just fine.
