Hello, I would like to know your best target load for your .223. I have a bolt action, 1X12 twist, 24" tube. Bullet weight's from 52gr-65gr. Powder any brand. Target only loads.
Thanks, Jerry.

This probably will do you no good but the old J action 12 twist will make one hole with 55grain Hornady SPSXs 24.5 grains of 2200 powder lit by a cci 450 primer. Luckily there are 4 kegs of 2200 sitting here waiting for the prairie dog population to boom again;)

Are you sure it's a 1-12 twist? Wow, never seen one of those in a Savage.

50-55gn bullet, 25.0-25.2gn H335... pick a case, pick a primer. Should shoot pretty well regardless. Fine-tune as needed.

Hi Everyone, The load I have had luck with is for a Stevens 200 22 inch barrel, stock:

24 gr of H335
55 gr Hornady V-max flat bottom
CCI #400 primers
I am using once/twice fired Aguila Brass I purchased earlier

After initial testing I got .69 inches at 100 yds.
Still testing but pretty close so far.
