I have an accustock and action off a model 16 in .300 savage. Waiting on a .358 win barrel from Shaw. Will the 358 win in magnum contour(smallest they make it for in 358) fit in my accustock which had a .300 savage with a sporter contour. They are both small shank barrels in case anyone asks.

The wording of your question gives you the answer. No, a magnum contour barrel won't fit into a stock with a barrel channel designed for a sporter barrel without opening it up a little. Generally sporter barrels have a muzzle diameter of .550". Most magnum contour barrels will have a muzzle diameter of 0.600 to 0.700" depending on caliber and manufacturer.

That's what I assumed, but I didn't know if the accustocks channel would allow it to fit as it is designed to normally squeeze around an action.
