I have a model 10 in 22-250. The rifle feeds fine but when I try to extract the fired cartridge, it only pulls the empty about 1/2 the way out of the chamber and drops the brass on the follower, or the other cartridges in the follower. This happen most of the time. I'm using Win brass, and the rifle is pretty accurate. Do I need another extractor? Or should I try something else? The brass "looking" extractor is pretty small and flimsy looking but I guess it should work well.

I had the same problem with one and replaced the extractor, worked fine ever since.

Have you removed the bolt and tried a fired case out in the open to see what's really going on?

Fred Moreno of SSS fixes that problem with a larger detent ball behind the extactor claw. If no one else comes on with a link to his explaination, I'll try to find it tomorrow or you could check my posts about two months ago.-Steve
