B&C tactical medalist question

Hi,
Question about my B&C stock. Should the rear tang where the safety on my Stevens 200 touch the stock. I have heard that I should be able to slide a piece of paper in between the rear of the action and the stock? Mine fits tight with no gap at all. Not even a sheet of paper will slide through.

Both of my previous Savage A2 Medalists weren't 100% free floated at the tang, but shot 0.5-0.75 MOA.

I say shoot it first and see how it does...
