Have you considered going with a 20 MOA rail with Burris signature rings? You should be able to get 40 MOA with this setup with easy to obtain components.

I did consider the 20moa and would have bought one already if i found one over the counter. If I was odering one and the scope having 70moa each way for 140 total. why not get the most out of it. the scope is the 35mm tube 6x25x56 millett for now.

nightforce makes 40 moas as does badger who makes a 45 moa, im not aure about for the savage though. I like the 20 moa base/ 20 moa rings idea. or go 20 moa base with a nightforce or similar 20moa flat top ar style mount stacked on it. I like the rings idea better. Also, not sure what distance u were going to sight yer gun in at, but make sure you have enough internal elevation adjustment to be able to compensate for a super steep grade on top of your gun you might need Jake brakes!!!

Yep 20 moa rail with burris signature rings with the plus 20 and minus 20 inserts would be the fastest easiest way to do it. Piece of cake.

Not very easy with a 35mm tube.

Murphy Precision will make you a 40moa base.

Shouldn't be that hard to reach 1500 yards. I stretched my 338 Edge out past 1600 yards with a 20 moa base and a 50 moa (total) scope.

I just got a 20moa base and shimmed under the rear of the base with aluminium shims cut from soda cans.

This got me a lot more MOA. More than I can use with my 260 rem and the Millett LRS.

Have you tried Ken Ferrell? I think I've seen some 40's of his but can't remember if it was available for the flat back or not.

How did you decide you wanted 40 MOA? I was looking at the LRS-1 on a Savage MK2

I have 20 MOA bases on both of my rifles, .243 and a 6.5x284, the 243 has a Viper PST 4-16x50 and has plenty of adjustment for over 1000yd shooting and the 6.5x284 has NF5.5-22x56 and is good for over a mile.

Exactly.
In my air, my 308 shooting 175SMK's @ 2550fps launch only need 88.2MOA to get to 1500 yards.....
My VX-II 6-18 has enough internal to make 1100 yards, as it worked out. If you need a 35mm tube to get 70 minutes, you need a different scope.

If you ask EGW they may make one for you.

If it was me I'd get a 20 moa base and measure the difference between the front and back. Then, make a shim to match the contour of the receiver and double up the difference between the two.
