I keep hearing how great 4064 is in the 22-250 ...I have as yet.Not seen any proff. of this
in my rifle..Maybe because it is 1 in 12 twist? Maybe because of the wrong bullets?

I have 2 lbs of this on hand here and If anyone wouls like to share the secret,I would love
to hear it..Maybe I haven't experimented enough yet.

I do know that as soon as I get a few more bucks saved up,I am going to switch the barrel
to maybe a 1 in 9 twist and perhaps a AI as well....Be safe and aim small Ace

Ace I have used IMR 4064 in several 22-250 rifles over an almost 50 year period. It has been a go to powder many times. The favorite load had been 36.0 gr. and 50 to 55 gr. Sierra bullets, but the last one I have worked with really did not like that much and I was getting high pressure signs. It seems to like 34.7 a lot better and it was accurate. I do not know if they have changed 4964 or it is the difference in guns but I have used the bigger load in many guns and no trouble after working up to it. The one barrel I have just changed out just last year with over 10,000 rounds on it. it was a Douglas barrel.

Be safe and work up all powder loads. Gordon

Mine loves 36 grains as well. Shoots the 53 Vmax and 52 Berger into half inch groups at 3680 fps.
