Are there groups that get together for shooting events in Arizona

There is a long range club at Ben Avery but it seems to be a PITA to do anything with them. They have regular events, but seem to be "formal" not the kind of shooting that I enjoy. And you can only shoot when the club is there.

Phoenix Rod N Gun has shooting events the first 2 Sundays of every month starting at 0800. Haven't been yet, but a buddy of mine has been going for a few years. Pistols on the first Sunday, and piston / rifle the second. Not thrilled about the drive...

My preference would be to find a decent area north on I17 on public land where a group of like minded individuals could shoot safely and without the hassle of the rude crude hourly drones at Ben Avery.

I would like to do everything from pistols to long range including tactical / situational training/shooting with a small group.

There are other options for shooting in the valley incl. tact training but it gets expensive...
