I searched to no avail. Seems like mag lengths would/should be in the FAQ's.

Anyone have a .223 SF and a caliper handy?

It would depend on how old the box is. The original .223 box is 2.325". After the .204 Ruger came out, the block was reduced to take a longer cartridge, and it is 2.425"

Thanks Mr. Moreo!

I'll need to inspect one soon at my LGS to ascertain whether the block can be machined thinner or removed and replaced with a Delrin block.

Ok, just thinking aloud here... Could a magazine be modified to handle longer .223 bullets by replacing the follower with one from a .243. Would the bolt have to be modified a well? Thinking about loading 75 amax in a magazine.

I have an old 112 bvss in .223. I removed the sheet metal spacer at the back of the magazine and made a thinner block out of delrin. I can run up to 2.5" oal.
