I just watched the video / link you posted. I really hate these guys that can take a piece of wood, a few power tools and some spray paint & whip up a custom fit rifle stock.
I just can't aquire the "touch" for fine wood working. I can rebuild a house that's been comdemed & falling off the foundation but I can't make a rifle stock.

To each, his own..... as my mother used to tell me.

Hey!..... I just thought of something. Maybe I can make one out of concrete? I'm real good with cement block, concrete & such....

Holy Crap!!!! The guy has router bits as big as Caterpillar D-9's!!!

My biggest undertaking in a "make it from scratch" gun project was a flintlock pistol. Even then I had the guy route out the barrel channel.

I got in a somewhat started walnut stock in a trade. The one big thing in the video is "keep it square". This stock was cut with a hand saw and a beltsander. Make a plan, inlet the action first. Keep it square.
