What bases # do I need? I called Savage and they told me #46. They do not fit. Any help please?

Well, for starters there's no such thing as an Axis chambered in .22 Long Rifle. Care to try again?

Actually, there is. They were made as a special run for one company and they are actually something of a rarity... A quick google search of "savage axis 22lr" will bring up the gun. I'd be willing to bet the bases are either the same as the savage mkii or savage 10.

LOL...looks like one of Savage's distributors talked Savage into shooting themselves in the arse on this one. The Weaver #46 is for a Model 10/110 so naturally it won't fit on a rimfire. From what little I've found on these, they're nothing more than a pre-AccuTrigger Mark II and any bases listed to fit a Savage Mark I or Mark II should fit it.
