Any savage 24 camper fans here, finally found one about a year or so ago manufactured in 1964 in pristine condition, and am trying to get it dialed in to shoot slugs and 22lr, the bottom barrel shoots slugs 6 inches low at 25 yards, The rimfire barrel drives tacks, the barrels are not soldered together, this 24 has the barrel band,
your input and knowledge is much appreciated, (would send a pic, but i don't think i have that option)
Paul

I have an old Stevens 22-410 the original version of your rifle. Last fall I killed 25 Partridges and 22 of them with this gun. I absolutely love this little gun.

Have one, but haven't shot it very much. Put a Williams receiver sight on it years ago (fits the grooves for the scope). Have to be cautious about how I hold my thumb when shooting the shotgun barrel, as the short stock allows my face to get kind of close to the grip area.

I've got two myself. a 24V-A in .222 Rem over 20ga. and a 24S in 22LR over 20ga. I used the 24S growing up and have lots of memories with it. The 24V-A was a one owner I picked up because it was well over 95% condition and has about 10 shots down each barrel. Probably should use it more, but would just hate to scratch a 40+ year old gun thats surrvived scratch free.
