Need help here!!!

I bought a Rem-age (Remington thread) barrel nut from Northland Shooters Supply and made a 300 Whisper on a 722 Remington action. I have not had a opportunity to fire it yet. Will give a range report later.

My question is since the action and barrel are blue and the barrel nut is stainless what paint or bake on finish could I use on the barrel nut to match the blue finish of the action and barrel. Any suggestions would be appeciated.

Thanks,

Bill

Brownell's Aluma-Hyde II works well and requires no baking. It does take about five days to reach full cure but is a durable finish. They also have a baking laquer that sets in 20 minutes when heated to approximately 200 degrees or so.

I haven't used this product but you could give it a shot. It's the last two items in the list.

Why not put an add in the classified section looking for a trade for a blue nut?

Some gun refinishers have stainless steel bluing set-ups. Brownells sells the salts. They are not found on every street corner, but they do exist. If you can't find one locally, then check online and I'm sure you can find one.
