I know the 7mm-08 was 1 in 9.5, then 1 in 11, then back to 1 in 9.5 twist; did the 7mm WSM share the same fate?
What is 7mm WSM rifle twist?
Thinking of buying a 16 in 7mm WSM

They had quit making the 7mmWSM long before the switch to 1 in 11".

The only Savage catalog I saw that listed a 7mm WSM chambering said the twist was 1 in 10".

10 twist is still too slow for me in the 7mm bore size.
I'd like 9 minimum.
My 7WSM Savage did have a 10 twist though.

Thanks all
Maybe I'll stick with my 300WSM, though it's not stainless

1 in 10" twist should be plenty fast for a high velocity round like the 7 WSM, even with 160 gr bullets. The 1 in 11.5 was really marginal to too slow for a modest velocity round like the 7mm-08 with anything over 140 gr.

What bullet are you thinking of using? The 1:10 will shoot most of them just fine, including the 168 grain Bergers. It probably won't work well with the 180 Bergers.

1 in 9 for up to the 180gr. rounds, 1 in 8.5 for anything heavier (such as the 195gr. rounds Berger is coming out with).
