would like some input on out of the box rifle. How many yards out could this factory rifle no mods effectively kill varmints?

I never had a chance to shoot on paper much farther than 300 yards but it would do 1/2 MOA or less at 300. Killed coyotes past that pretty easy......back then it was Barnes 50g VLC's and Varget but now my 22-250's get a healthy diet of 50g Noslers and R-15.

Heck, my stock 12FVSS won the email matches here several times. That thing would freakin' shoot!!!

My son and I both have the 12BVSS, mine in 223 and his is 22-250.
We regularly shoot prairie dogs out to 500 yrd and have stretched it to 700 yrd shooting hand loads.

Both guns are shooting .5MOA or less.

I have over 3000 rounds thru the 223 so far.

12VLP 1 in 9" twist .22-250. Under 1/2" all day long with 69gr SMKs and Varget or XMR2495 or 4064 or RL15.....................etc. Under 3" at 500yds on a wind free day. And that is a 10 round group, not a useless 3 rounder. Anybody can shoot a 3 round group at any distance. I am extremely pleased with this gun. Buy one now.

...Never seen a ..Varmint..4-legged or 2-legged.. stick around for 10-shots unless it's that paper PD...lol..If I put that first round between the eye's of my target whats the use firing 9 more.. ::)..

As a statistical tool, a five round and better yet a ten round group beats a three rounder by miles.

And those statistics play right back to the probability of 1Shot's .... one shot going where he wants it to.

I will fire 9 more times when 9 more pop up..........and I will hit them all. How about you? Three shot groups tell you nothing at all......2 good shots and 1 trigger jerk=bad group. Does that make the load junk? Who would ever know. 9 good shots and 1 trigger jerk=bad group. Does that make the load junk? Not hardly. The reason most people stop and take pictures of three round groups is usually because if they shoot any more, either the shooter or the load will screw up. I have friends who do it this way and when they pull the fourth or fifth shot, they look like they might puke, knowing that they just wasted a Kodak moment. I would rather shoot 10 different ten round groups and find a good load, that shoot 500 different three round groups and still not know jack.
