I live in South Dakota, and can tell you late August is not cooler. The nights might be, but not the day times. 89 degrees here at 1:32am last night. I am in the SW part of the state and our forecast for the next few days is 15 to 25 degrees cooler than it has been. We have had extremely dry conditions. Fire danger is beyond extreme. Many parts of western South Dakota have gone to banning almost every type of open flame (including smoking outside of a building or vehicle).

I hope you find your stay and hunting in South Dakota a pleasure. Welcome to the state of Great Faces and Great Places.

I just got back sunday night from our annual trip. It was a blast as usual but the numbers were certainly down. Our favorite towns were poisoned off so taht ment all the others were shot at more. Good luck and i hope your able to get your barrels good and hot!

We have just returned from our first trip to shoot PD's and we learned a lot but it was not that successful, I think I shot about 200 rounds over four really hot and windy days.

Well gentlemen we got back at 4:30am after driving all night back home weather was 80-90's and not to bad on wind really for being south Dakota as was stated before the dog numbers were down a bit more than I'd liked for driving 881 miles there and back although in 4.5 days I send roughly 17-1800 rounds into small creatures on a regular basis. The drive stinks but had a great time while we were there I'll get some pictures up as soon as I get some r&r and load them on the computer.

Around Winner SD there are a few towns we try to get to every year I see you are from SD, that country is about as purdy as it gets out there!
