I keep seeing references to 112 actions on here and other sites but can't find one listed by Savage. What am I missing?

The original Savage action was the 110, (All long actions.) the short actions with the 2 digit numbers did not come out untill latter one. (Mid to late 1990's) The guns had the same designation then as they do now. The 12 series was a Target/Varmint rifle.(As it is today.) The reason why you dont see the 112 any more is because the chambering for a varmint/target rifle usualy fall under the short action requirements.

Savage stopped making 112's a few years ago. I happened to buy the last 112 from NSS in 25/06, wish I had a few more in different calibers.
Very nice all stainless with the laminate VLP stock.

I was hoping to get one to build a 280 on. Guess I'll have to go with a 110 or some other 11? series.

116 is stainless model
as the 112's were
also some 114 are stainless
Im fairly new to Savages -but from what I gather here from the "exsperts"
all savage -Stevens LA receivers are basicly the same
& there are 3 variations of the short action
I too, would like to have had one of the 112 Bvss's
I had a chance once to buy one in 300WM -but at that time I was not to familar with savages
but Im very pleased with my 110's & 111's

If you act quickly there is a 116 stainless with all the upgrades in the classifieds right now. I think it was listed this afternoon.
Play nice
