Might also want to look at a Palma taper barrel. You can get the length and are still light enough you can balance the gun without to much trouble. I am running a 6.5mm and a 30 cal in the medium Palma and they are right around 5 lbs.

I have a CBI in light varmint in 26" and its a little long for my taste but it shoots so well as is im very hesitant in cutting it down to 20-22" . So i might have to either buy another or risk it......but that old line always comes up.......if it aint broke, dont fix it. But the weight i very nice compared to full varmint taper which did make my rifle very nose heavy.

Jim explained the light varmint is a hair bigger than heavy sporter. I opted for the heavier because he had it in stock and i like the extra mass to soak up heat on longer strings before POI is affected.

I need a few,lol.
When i posted i was thinking for 30" 300 rum to replace the factory 26" tube on my 116.
Im also going to order a 28" 222 rem, and i have a new f class 6.5-284 barrel new brass bullets and dies but i know i can lug around a 30 extra heavy hunting so that my be the 3rd, my own group buy, lol.

I'd like to know too.
Make it easier to decide/order.
