Ok. So i got a nice cano syn stock for hunting season so i wont scuff up my nice VLP w dbm stock and i can save it for summer competition use. There are a few things i was gonna do to the stock to improve it.
Bed it of course
fill the hollow butt stock w expanding foam
fill they voids in the stock action area before bedding
when i filled the butt stock with expanding foam it kind of didnt work. Has anyone else tried this or used something else to fill that hollow cavity? I considered doing it in steps so the foam could cure right.
The bedding will be in devcon. Havent considered stiffening the forearm but if i do it will prob be w a length of all thread rod set w jb weld. The stock does seems sort of stiff already and since this wont be for competition i dont really care to go all out on it..
Ideas and suggestions are welcome from the treasure trove of knowledge in here. Thanks.
