I got my Newcon 7x42 LRB rangefinder binoculars I purchased off of eBay today and tested it out a little bit.
The thing is heavy but sturdy. Fits the hands well but is hard for me to hold steady enough to get readings on small objects over 1300 yards away. It does have a tripod mount though and I'll be giving that a try to test for maximum range.
The longest range I shot was 1348 on a mailbox. I couldn't get a range on a further mailbox but I don't know if that's because I couldn't hold it steady enough or if the mailbox exceeded the capabilities of the LRF.
The ranges proved repeatable and accurate when I ranged on targets at a known distance.
I suspect that this is a 1500 yard rangefinder but I will mount it and find some further targets to verify that.
The optics are good but not superb. About on par with my Burris FFII binos.

For $214 shipped I'm very pleased with this unit and I'd be pleased with the others the seller has for sale at $300.

A lot of performance for the money.

Here's a link to the LRB's Sedepot has for sale on eBay right now.

Until the Bushnell Elite 1500 came out the Newcon was the longest ranging device you could buy for under $2000. The Bushnell Fusion binoculars will out range that Newcon bino but they are in the $700 plus price range. The Newcon Monoculars are not as well made as the binos and usually had serious problems after a few years. I have one that rarely works anymore.

You should take a look at the Newcon 4000 meter model! zooom!

I've been poring over their website and they have some very impressive offerings.

For a rifleman though, and especially for this rifleman, if you can range to 1500 yards how much more do you need?

I took a chance on these but for $200 not too big of a chance.

I'm impressed so far.
