Got my Savage 12 in 223ai out today and shot it for the first time. I got the SS barrel used on the forum and I was happy to say the least. The barrel was a factory savage that was re-contoured to .685 at the barrel and shortened to 24 inches by Sharp Shooters. Fred screwed it on a SS short action. I put it in a B&C stock. The balance is pretty nice much better than the predator. We worked up loads and got 3500 fps with 55 blitz kings with 27.5 of Benchmark. Might try to get a little more out of her. Groups were under an inch.

I love my .223AI!

T&T'd Mod 10 Action by SSS, Rifle Basix 2 trigger, 10FP bolt handle, somebodies base, B&C Duramax stock bedded w/ Devcon, Nikon Monarch UCC 6.5-20X FCH dot. It is my fav rifle to shoot. Well balanced, Accurate, flat shooting, low amount of powder for what it does, .223 brass that never grows. I will always have one of these. I thought about replacing it w/a .20 Vartarg or Practical, but it would have been alot of $- barrel, dies, bullets, brass, etc. and not really gain much appreciable anything. I get over 3600FPS w/ Nos. 50BTips. That is smoking for a .223 sized case w/ its longer barrel life than a .22-250. I have a reduced load w/ Blue dot that makes a little .35gr. Vmax cook along at 3100fps w/ a little Pop. It is great for out to 150-175yds in low wind.

Its seriously one of my fav. rifles to shoot. I have ones that cost more and have more fancy names, but all around, I reallyl enjoy this rifle.

Great looking gun. This post is good motivation for me. I have a 12FV that I will be getting cut to 21.75" and ackley'd soon after the new year. Haven't decided on a stock yet but it is really looking like it will be a Boyd's thumbhole. Been planing this for a while now.
