I started this build a while back and it has slowly been coming together here is what I have so far.

Stevens 200 CF action
.243 Win Heavy Varmint McGowan 1:7 twist
Stockade tactical bolt handle, recoil lug, and lift kit
SSS Competition trigger
EGW 20 MOA base
Leupold QRW rings
Weaver 3-10X40 Tactical Grand Slam Mil-Dot scope
HS Precision stock and bottom metal with detachable mag

Here is how it was shooting in an un-bedded M12 synthetic stock with 107 Sierra MK's.

There was potential there but I knew I needed a stock upgrade. I was cosidering dropping the money on a McMillan A5 stock and CDI bottom metal but found this HS Precision that was lightly used for far less money. I think my groups will tighten up now, that my barreled action is bedded to this stock. I know that a lot of people don't bed the HS stock but I feel better with all my stocks bedded. I've got those heavy DTAC's and Berger's on order and thinking of trying some Matrix bullets as well. Hoping to start ringing some steel well beyond 600 yards soon as I can find some time off from my new job to spend time loading and shooting.

It looks good. The Stevens rifles sure are a great firearm bargain.

I would like to find one in .308.

Shes a beaut Clark. How do you like the weaver? how well do the turrets operate? How the clarity?

Thanks I've been working on this one a while. Powder was I4350 not 3031, the only bad part about the spreadsheet is that sometimes I forget to change some of the data and don't catch it until later.

I'd put the glass on par with the VX-II or it is at least comparable to my 4-12X40 AO VX-II that I use on my varmint rifles. I haven't used the turrents much except to get the rifle on paper, but the clicks are solid and it moves the cross hairs as it should. It had a good review on Sniper Central so I thought I'd give it a go, I'll upgrade to better optics in the future as the money situation improves. This is my first attempt for a long range rifle so I'm still at the bottom of the learning curve.

I can tell you have taken the time to do your homework. Very nice first build, enjoy the accuracy she will provide.

Your build looks professional and I use McGowen barrels and I am quite happy with them.

Thanks! This is my third build I've done a 6x47 Rem and a 7mm-08. Didn't like the 7-08 and sold off the barrel, now I'm trying to decide between a .250 Savage or .358 Win.

Had father's day off, spent it at the bench.
