Is it possible to put a short action (4.4 spacing) into a long action stock? The stock has a spacing of just over 5". Actually, I am sure anything is possible so I guess the question should be how hard is it. Do I just need to redrill one hole and everything else will line up or am I way off base. I do not have my action in hand yet so I cannot just compare the two. Thanks for the advice.

I can't imagine the recoil lug space lining up and if you put the lug where it goes you will be 3/4 inch short at the tang. I think it would be cheaper to just get a 440 space stock.

Sniper is right.

The mag box inlet and the trigger inlet would be all wrong.

POSSIBLE ,YES easy ?????????
I have beded several rifle stocks to a differnt footprint using a dremel, aluminum pillars , kiwi, & devcon 10110
I changed a SA into LA just because I liked the wood in it
Im considering putting my Savage 22lr bull barrel in another Rem BDl stock for the same reason
of course I would have to fill the viod with wood , epoxy or both
it can be done with a few tools & a lot of willie
