.303 savage model 99. sites..?help

Hoping to get some help . I've got a .303 savage model 99 with a half round - half octagon 24" barrel and i need to find out the proper height of the front site...

Oh you gotta love those "99's"

Down the list a bit there is the "other Savage" rifle category ...... and you may get more "99" play there.

Do you have a front sight now and it's wrong?

If you do and it's too short you could glue something temporary on top of it and get an idea on how much you need to add.

Somewhere I saw a good resource on doing this mathematically ..... but it escapes me right now.

Maybe someone who knows it can post a link?

prolly should have elaborated . thank you for the reply. i've got "express sights" and before the rifle gets refurbished i'd like to make sure it's factory. thanx again.
