I know this has been asked before but I did several searches and got two different answers.
~2.880" and ~2.990".

Anybody out there have one handy they could measure for my edification?

I used to have a 7WSM staggerfeed but don't remember the measurement.

They are the same length as any other short action magazine.

I strongly advise making sure your bullets are at least .02" from the max length, preferably further, to feed properly.

Put the calipers to the pre-AT, FB, CRF WSM action I just picked up and much to my chagrin the mag box is 2.875" inside.

DARN, I was so badly hoping it was the 2.990" posted here.

Hmm, that's unfortunate, you can always go the cdi/alpha mag route to get that may length, since their wsm magazines are 2.985" in length. I don't think the extra length is really necessary though, at most you'll gain a slight bit of velocity, and you probably won't be able to seat the bullet anywhere near the land in mag length, but not THAT limiting.

For example, this is the load data from a friend using a 300wsm with a 24" factory barrel:

Win brass
208gr. Amax
WLRM primers
Rl-19 67.2gr.
OAL 2.860

This load gets him 2960fps without pressure signs, a very good load and one you can try out.

Once I get some 208 Amax's I'll measure my lands and then most likely set the barrel back a coupla turns and rechamber and throat so I can be on the lands at mag length.
That or just get a new blank, thread nutless, and chamber/throat to kiss lands at mag length.
