I haven't shot this rifle very much yet and I am planning
to try my hand at the F class shoots...

My question is..Do you think I would get better accuracy
with full length sized or should I go with neck size?

The bullet is going to be the Hornady 55 grain V Max...

Just wish I had a little more time to get in some range
time...Have any of you used this rifle for any match work..

Thank you for any advice...John

thanks Drybean..Why move the should back? Is this so the bolt
will close better? I have noticed some closeing was a little harder.

My 22-250 barrel is an Adams & Bennett after market barrel I picked up from MidwayUSA, It has a 1-14" twist so it is not quite as fast as your rifles twist. I've gotten great results with it using 52gr Sierra MatchKings.

After I've fired the brass in my chamber I use a Lee Collet Dies set and a Factory Crimp Die after seating the bullet. I've gotten the best accuracy with this bullet at lower velocities.

I'm 42 but I do have some arthritis. I use a front rest and rear bag to help with steady at the range.

Ditto

I played with neck sizing didn't see it being worth much vs consistent chambering with brass sized to your chamber, aka bumped back .002

Groups below @ 100yds, 12fv bedded bell & carlson medalist, front bipod, rear bag. 1200+rds down the pipe

Haha sorry didn't mean to, thanks though. trust me I've threw a ton of targets away that didn't look like those, burned pounds of powder, gallons of fuel going to the range, hours at the bench, made people shake their head at my obsessivenes, Course I can never leave a combo alone too haha. I'm striving to duplicate this one again.

or consistently hold this.

22-250, I tend to shoot the slower powders, powder valley has a killer price on lapua 22-250 brass. Two cases of a hundred fit in a flat rate box, I ordered 400 :) Keep in mind that some off these groups where shot with a 6-18 nikon and now a 6-24 vortex viper pst. Keep shootin you'll get there.

My model 12 FVSS really likes 36.0 grains of Varget pushing a Sierra 55 grain boat tail Gameking. The best it has (so far) shot .488" o/s at 100 yards.

When I built a 22-250AI years ago I bought pounds of powder and I found 4895 and the Hogdon 380 and I might have used 414 too? but 4895 was the best with 55-62g SMK and BT's. I hate running the extruded stuff through the measure but it was worth it. I did a lot with the Hogdon cause that small round ball measures so sweet, hardly any trickling at all.
It's cool to see the same powders working that worked 20 years ago, bit I'm completely uneducated on what's new. Been out of it for a while but getting back in it now :) thanks to this site.

Kind of sounds like myself..I used to shoot a lot and then got away from it after the heart attack I had in 2005...Got into black powder cartridge for a few years as well..Finally sold the sharps rifle and now am getting back into the F class shoots with the 22-250..I tell ya,there are powders I never heard of out there now...Kind of glad I got out of the black powder game..getting too costly for lead and powder....Anyway I hope your having fun getting started again..

Having a blast Ben-Thanks! Yeah, my idea of slap on a new barrel for a few bones and see what I can get out of it. Getting close to 12 in it and still no stock! (cant commit yet) lol! Of course, had to pick a new round, all the reloading support, the tools for the barrel job- but It's different not having to wait months and months for smith work. yeah, all the powders, Hercules is now Allliant? Bullets are still basically the same- Just learning about bushing dies (never heard of em before) and I have one now! One big difference-components are 2-3 times more $ than they used to be, but the game is still full of guys with wagon loads of money! LOL! When I build a gun it's going to stay like that till I'm dead-I have an "expansion only" rule for the rack-and nothing factory stock allowed :)
There's been a lot of new development of products and reloading tools especially in the measuring dept and the knowledge of using them is wide spread. Lot of smart people who have done all of it at least once. the internet has also revolutionized access to information. That's a big factor with a lot of value.
Best to ya!
