For coyote hunting, any suggestions as to which I should go with; Simmons Predator Quest 6 - 24 x 50mm or a Simmons WhiteTail Classic 6 - 20 x 50mm? It's going on a Savage Model 12FV.

I have had good luck with my white tail classics, they are great scopes for the money, and also held zero for months at a time which is very important to me.

I tend to lean towards the 44mag 6.5-20x44 as it has target turrets, but it may not be needed for yote whacking! I also like a mildot for hold over and wind corrections on the fly! Either way for the cost they are good scopes and I've compared them to other (higher dollar) glass and they've been seemingly as good or better than some.

I have the simmons 44mag in 6-21-44 and i think its a good buy for the $$. mine is the mildot version w target turrets. The clicks are not as clean as i prefer but it does track well and seems very sturdy. At higher magnification iss not to bad either. The paralax on it helps w my vision problems cuz i can fine tune it at any distance. It also came w a 4" sunshad which isnt to shabby. Once i save some cash ill prob invest in a vortex and move this one to a new project rifle.

I have owned a white tail classic for several years. Got it from SWFAs sample list. It currently sits on my AR.

I have a cheap 8 point 3-9. I got it for my 10/22 and then moved it to my M1 Garand with a BSquare mount. Honestly did not expect it to hold up to the Garand but it did fine. I have since moved it back to the 10/22

I had a pro-sport that had the cross hair wires break while mounted on my 10/22 (the 8 point was on the Garand). Sent it in to bushnell for warranty work, they replaced it with a similar yet different model. My original had a 40-44mm objective, the replacement has a 50mm objective. After about a year the replacement had the same problem, cross hair broke.

Have not sent it in. You have to pay shipping both ways. Its an $80 scope and I already have $25 sunk into it for the first replacements.. doesn't seem worth it. I would avoid the pro-sport line. I heard the 10/22 is hard on scopes but this is ridiculous.

With cheap scopes.. I think your best bet is to go with one from a company that has a lifetime warranty that does not force you to eat the shipping costs.
