What would you guys think is a fair price for a model 40?
I have missed 2 on the auction sites because I felt they were asking too much, both sellers wanted more than what they sold for new, and one other that I got sciped on with less than a minute left.
I've been watching and waiting for 2 months now.

I paid $300 for one that looks like new. I got it from the 6br forum . Most I have seen on GB are going for over $430.

Thanks. I don't go over there, maybe I need to start looking on different sites.

I bought mine almost 2 years ago for $400, but mine was rechambered to 22 K-Hornet and came with a Redding die set for that price. When I was watching gunbroker at that time I too was seeing them go for between $390 and $440 but that was back then.

I have one that I bought new from The Sportsman for $250 on a closeout about 4 years ago . I would say about $250 would be a fair price today for one in good shape. Good gun , very accurate ,and not too heavy to walk and hunt yotes with. The only limitation is it is a single shot which has not effected me or the yotes ( they seem to die just fine with one round!) . It's kind of an odball gun but I think it is neat. The Hornet is a Reloader's caliber so keep that in mind if you are not currently loading.

I was thinking in the mid $300's. There was one on GB the last time I checked used $465 starting bid, must be made out of gold.I don't know if it sold but at that price I doubt it.
