I have been using IMR4895 as well as varget for a while and having very good results. Went to the LGS yesterday and they were out of IMR4895 so I got a lb of benchmark to play with. I have read good things about benchmark but have never used it personally. Was wondering what savageshooters have to say...

1Shot has some pics posted in the 223 pet loads page I use H4895 for my medium weight bullets in 2 of my rifles they prefer it over varget with 69smk's I also bought a lbs of benchmark to try: it meters like H322 and have had decient results with it if you go from imr see if they have H and start up 5% under your pet load they are not the same powder so use caution.. But as far as a majical powder haven't found it to be. Still workin loads though keep us updated! And show pics

Loaded 25rnds each of 53, 55, 65, 75 & 80gr today. Gonna shoot 'em tomorrow & see what happens. I hope I get good results cause it does meter well.
Another first... I loaded 100rnds of .243 (55 & 70gr) with varget. I normally use either varget or IMR4895 with .223 and IMR4895 with .243 only... exited to see what happens.
Any of you guys (or gals) used varget with .243?

Shot the .223 http://i1151.photobucket.com/albums/o621/storeyteler/DSCN0004.jpg
Called the odd shot out (dang gnats were particularly aggressive today!)
and the .243 http://i1151.photobucket.com/albums/o621/storeyteler/DSCN0003.jpg
The .223 is a S&W M&P 15 sport with an A2 stock, rock river arms national match 2 stage trigger and bushnell 4-16x50 scope.
The .243 is a stevens 200, rifle basix trigger, and nikon 6-18x40 scope.
Off tomorrow and will shoot again. Here is a pic of my range on the farm. Goes out to 500yds!
