I use aluminum arrow shafts, works like a charm.

I am also interested in pillar bedding my stock.

Could someone please post some pictures of their bedded stock. Specifically I would like to see the inside of the stock and the outside of the stock by the pillars with and without screws. Also, please list the type of pillars and screws used with the pictures.

Thanks

Thanks, a visual always helps. Did you have to modify or shorten the pillars? Also, do your action screws sit flush with the stock?

i cut the aluminum pillars to length and the screws are countersunk into the stock
i used Richard Franklin's method of "Stress Free Bedding"
and it works great

+1 on using Lamp Rod. Buy it too long and cut it to length. The threads on the outside give the epoxy something to fill in and hold against.
